COURSE DESCRIPTION
DESCRIPTION
OF CLASS
The course is designed to engage students in
critical inquiry and debate on specific inventors and inventions that have
spurred historical progress. Each class session will focus on one aspect of
daily life all over the world, such as medicine, transportation, domestic life,
and leisure, as we chart and discuss the creations that both complicate and ease
the human experience. Daily readings are assigned from each section of
the
textbook. Students’ participation in group discussions is highly
valued and will be required at each class meeting.
